How to Apply PlushLux Wateryield (DIY Style)
Whether you're a weekend warrior or just tackling that one leaky wall, here's how to use PlushLux Wateryield like a pro.
What You'll Need:
5L PlushLux Wateryield (R899 from Paint Trade)
Paintbrush or roller
Drop sheets & masking tape
Mild detergent or cleaner
Scraper or wire brush (if walls are flaking)
Safety gloves & goggles
Step 1: Prep the Surface
Clean your surface thoroughly. Remove any loose paint, dust, grease, or flaky bits with a scraper or stiff brush. For mouldy areas, use a mould remover or bleach solution and let dry completely.
🛠️ Tip: Wateryield can be applied to wet or dry walls—but always clean first!
Step 2: Mix It Up
Open your PlushLux Wateryield tin and give it a good stir. This ensures even consistency throughout.
🛠️ Pro Tip: Don't thin the product unless specified—it's formulated for high performance as-is.
Step 3: First Coat
Using a roller or brush, apply the first coat evenly. Focus especially on joints, edges, and damp patches.
💡 Coverage: One 5L tin covers around 20–25 square metres depending on surface texture.
Step 4: Wait & Recoat
Allow 4 hours of drying time before applying the second coat. Ensure your first layer is touch-dry and not sticky.
Step 5: Sit Back & Relax
Once dry, your walls are now protected with a tough, long-lasting barrier against dampness. You can topcoat it with your regular paint (once cured), or leave it as is for a smooth, off-white finish.
Why PlushLux Wateryield is Worth Every Cent
Unlike latex paint or cheap sealants, PlushLux Wateryield offers serious protection:
Less odour, so you can use it indoors without headaches
Long-term peace of mind with a 5-year guarantee
